HASHPA’AH Registration Open

Registration for the third cohort of HASHPA’AH, ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal’s Certification and Ordination Program for mashpi’im/ spiritual directors, has just a few spaces remaining. The program is open to ordained clergy from seminaries recognized by OHALAH, and to students of those seminaries. It will begin next January 2011. Those planning to take part are asked to start work with a faculty mashpia at least six months prior to beginning.

ALEPH is in the final stages of planning a DMin in Spiritual Direction in conjunction with New York Theological Seminary, a fully accredited long distance learning program open to graduates of the HASHPA’AH Program.

For full details about HASHPA’AH see our website http://www.aleph.org/hashpaah_program.htm. For further information, email oneneshama@puaa.net, or call Rabbi Nadya Gross at 303 434-5583.

Here’s what graduates and current students in the program are saying:

Studying in the Hashpa'ah program has opened spiritual doors for me in my own life and has filled a "God-gap" that I found missing in my own rabbinical training. In turn, it has helped me connect with my congregation on a deeper and more meaningful level. Rabbi Ted Riter, CA

Until I began to train as a mashpi’ah through ALEPH, I didn't realize how much I was missing personally and professionally. I suspected that there must be practices to bring me and others closer to God. Since I have begun to introduce these practices into my life and my community, there has been a palpable deepening of connection and spiritual experience. It's the best learning I've done since I was ordained.  Rabbi Malka Drucker, New Mexico

Proper qualifications are needed to effectively facilitate others choosing to truly explore their spiritual path. To be able to master both the practical processes and deep soul knowledge needed to do this exceptionally well is the learning the HASHPA'AH Program provides brilliantly. To also experience such a positive transformational change within myself was the unexpected extra, for which I will be eternally grateful.  Jeremy Parnes, Canada; ALEPH Rabbinical Student

The sacred work of Hashpa’ah has been the most rewarding part of my rabbinate… I want to thank my incredible teachers and chevre who have been my companions on this holy journey.  Rabbi Terry (Raphaela) Greenstein, Mashpi’ah Ruchanit, Massachusetts
