RUACH HA'ARETZ is Accepting Applications for 2-year Training Programs with Rabbi Diane Elliot and Rabbi Nadya Gross

Don't find yourself looking for "what's next" after this summer's ALEPH Kallah! Make your plans now to deepen in your practice and learning with one of two Kallah teachers.

Rabbi Diane Elliot is offering a two-year Spiritual Movement Leadership training.  "Embodying Spirit, En-Spiriting Body" will begin in December 2011 in the beautiful Northern California Santa Cruz mountains. In a deeply nurturing residential retreat setting, Rabbi Diane Elliot and her co-teachers will gently and joyfully guide you from the depths of your own body’s cells to the farthest reaches of the cosmos. You will discover new freedom to dance your soul’s yearning and to move sacred text off the page. Opening our bodies as channels for drawing Divine shefa (flow) into the world through movement meditations, hands-on exercises, and ecstatic dancing, we will support one another in connecting to G~d with our whole beings. For information and to apply, go to: http://www.ruachhaaretz.com/EmbodyingSpirit.html

Rabbi Nadya Gross is accepting applications for the third cohort of "Secrets My Grandmother Told Me: a wisdom school", beginning in November 2011. Here's what students in this program are saying:

Over the years I have studied with different teachers in different settings, but with the same intention: to bring into practice the spiritual growth and learning I have experienced in order to bring it from the head to the heart. What has been most remarkable, moving, inspiring and awesome about Reb Nadya is that the teachings expand and intensify over time after the end of the "official" teaching. Her gentle approach is magnificent in its subtlety. It was only after leaving the cocoon of the group that the magnitude and full beauty of the teaching fully unfolded for me. Each day I find more depth and connection to the teachings and I strive to bring the secrets to every action and interaction in my daily life–Deborah Oleshansky, Knoxville TN

These two years with Reb Nadya and the other travelers on the Kabbalistic path of relationship have been astounding. I knew that we would learn useful information from Jewish sources, explore the masculine and feminine attributes within each of us, and share healing meditations and practices. I wasn't disappointed. What came as a surprise was the profound effect our time had on my personal healing, both physically and with difficult relationships. The Wisdom School deepened my relationship with myself, my family, my students and my God. I am grateful to Reb Nadya for sharing her wisdom and to the others in the program for their continued, loving support.--Eshet Hazon, Rabbinic Pastor Matia Rania Angelou, Boston, Massachusetts

ALEPH joins Pidyon Shvui’m Campaign to free Gilad Shalit

Gilad Shalit was captured by Hamas in a cross border raid inside Israel in June 2006, and taken to Gaza where he remains in captivity. The Talmud teaches us that Pidyon Shvu’im— redeeming captives is a great mitzvah. Baba Batra 8b  According to the Rambam (Maimonides), there is no greater mitzvah than redeeming captives. Hilchot Matanot Aniyim 8:10

All who would like to support this Israeli initiated campaign can go to http://giladshalit.fr/ and click to email the following message to Prime Minister Netanyahu:

Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu, Please take every step possible to negotiate the immediate release of Gilad Shalit and request visits of the Red Cross or other appropriate visitations from now until his release. B'chavod rav, (with deep respect)” (Your name will go here when you sign up on the website.)
