Starring Nick Nolte, John Goodman, Alan Arkin

This darkly comic film version of Kurt Vonnegut Jr.’s novel tells the twisted tale of an amoral American writer living in Nazi Germany who is recruited by the United States as an informer during World War II. Working undercover, he becomes one of the leading anti-Semitic news broadcasters in Nazi Germany. Years later, he’s recognized as a Nazi and thrown into an Israeli prison, where he pens his memoirs and awaits his fate. The riveting screen adaptation draws out the moral conundrums in Vonnegut’s thought-provoking novel about good and evil, role-playing, and conscience.

For 25 years, Sara Davidson enjoyed fame and fortune as a best-selling author and award-winning TV writer. In the year 2000, her fast-track LA life began to unravel. She was divorced, her children were leaving for college and she couldn’t find work in television. Following her intuition, she drove to Boulder for three months to be a visiting writer at CU. She never drove back, and is now settled in Boulder, piecing together a different life, a process she documents in Leap! What Will We Do With the Rest of Our Lives? Her acclaimed new book, recently featured in Newsweek, weaves the writer’’s own journey with the experience of 150 successful people composing the final chapters of their eventful lives.

Come early and stay late to enjoy Gold Lake’’s scenic hot tubs and grounds - bring a swimsuit, towel and robe. Carpool from the Boulder JCC parki! ng lot at 10 a.m. or make the 45-minute drive yourself. Directions to Gold Lake: Go west on Canyon Boulevard (Hwy 119) to Nederland. Take Highway 72 for 12 miles west/north towards Estes Park. Turn right on County Road 100, 1/4 mile past Ward. Take the first right onto Gold Lake Road (sign) and follow the 3 mile dirt road.

Nominated for six Israeli Oscars and based on the best-selling novel by David Grossman, this hip, nerve-jangling thriller sends viewers on a riveting ride through the streets of Jerusalem at the end of a Labrador’s leash. Assaf, an awkward 17-year-old, is given an impossible task: to track down the girl who owns the lost Lab. The film follows Assaf and this mysterious girl on parallel timelines, highlighting the distance between them and the loneliness they must endure until their narratives finally converge. For the two, this will be an accelerated journey into adulthood, a test of courage and commitment, and a story of self-discovery and first love.
