    Holiday Food Donations Needed
    volunteers donate food

Our need for donations for Family Safety Net is great throughout the year as we continue to see record numbers of clients each week due to higher energy costs and financial hardship. As we approach the winter holidays, we urge churches, synagogues, scout troops, community groups and individuals to help us organize food drives so we can offer our clients more food. We provide donation barrels and encourage each congregation or group to choose one item to collect such as soup, pasta sauce, cereal or canned fruit.

For more information, please contact Amy Wood, (303) 597-5000, ext. 344.

Add Meaning to Your Life and the Lives of Others

Wanted: Jewish volunteers in the Denver/Boulder metro areas who are looking for a fulfilling opportunity. Individuals are needed to lead holiday services for residents of long-term care facilities; visit people in hospices, their homes, hospitals, or correctional institutions; offer bereavement support; and more!

If you fit this description, please sign up for the 2007 JFS Para-chaplain training held January 7, 17, and 23!

“Being a para-chaplain gives me great pleasure,” says Paula Breese, a para-chaplain since the program’s inception in 1995. “I love the opportunity to brighten the lives of our seniors. They’ve taught me the meaning of courage, strength, and dignity. We sing, we pray, we laugh, we talk, and eat together; we have become family.”

For more information or to sign up for the training, please contact Nancy Benyamin at (303) 597-5000, ext. 369.
