Welcome to the monthly e-news for the city of Boulder's ClimateSmart campaign. The Changing Times updates interested residents and businesses on programs and initiatives
run by the city of Boulder's Climate Action Plan (CAP) team. We also promote other relevant events in the community.
The ClimateSmart campaign is the marketing arm of the city of Boulder's Climate Action Plan (CAP), designed to create community awareness and action around Boulder's
commitment to a 2012 'Kyoto' goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 22% below 2006 levels. ClimateSmart programs are funded by the 'carbon tax' passed by city of
Boulder voters in November 2006. We're here to facilitate community commitments to eco-friendly transportation and residential and commercial energy efficiency.

Please visit: www.environmentalaffairs.com (then click on Energy and Climate and see program tabs) for details on our
current programs related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, and transportation. In early September all program information will be located at www.beClimateSmart.com.
August's Featured Program: Residential Energy Audits
Get a low-cost energy audit through the CRC's Residential Energy Audit Program. This program is subsidized in part by Boulder County and the City of Boulder through
the climate tax and is available to residents of Boulder County. Info: 303-441-3278 ext. 24 or visit the Conservation Center web site.
August Transportation Tips
Every mile you drive emits about one pound of CO2 into the atmosphere. Keep track of your mileage and make a personal commitment to drive at least five fewer
miles each day. Spend a few minutes mapping your errands to drive the most direct route---better yet, call ahead to make sure the store has what youre looking for.
