Pardes Levavot, “Orchard of Hearts,” was formed in the spirit of creating conscious holy community. Our name expresses the spiritual blossoming of each individual heart within an inspiring and nurturing orchard.

Program Director for Hillel at CU Boulder

Hillel at the University of Colorado at Boulder, CU, has an estimated 2500 Jewish students. In addition to the Program Director, the CU Hillel staff includes a Rabbi/Director and a JCSC Fellow. Hillel at CU is part of Hillel of Colorado, a multi-campus Hillel which includes the University of Denver and Colorado State University.

The CU Boulder Hillel Program Director will partner with staff to empower students by providing them with tools and resources to create exciting and innovative social, cultural, educational, community service and religious programs that energize Jewish life on campus. The Program Director will help students explore their Jewish identity, while developing leadership skills that will last a life time.

Responsibilities:

Program

  • planning and evaluation of overall programs
  • initiate program in specific areas of focus
  • attend and/or provide logistical support for assigned programs
  • liaison to university organizations and Jewish agencies regarding joint efforts
  • maintain records of programs, attendance and evaluation
  • apply for program grants, when appropriate
  • coordinate/oversee publicity – print, web-based, person-to-person contact

Leadership

  • assist in recruiting and cultivating student leaders
  • work with students in positions of responsibility to develop their leadership skills
  • provide guidance and direction to various groups and committees
  • encourage and support student initiated programs and various interest based groups.

Engagement

  • Contact uninvolved students through calls, Engagement Initiatives, personal outreach, etc.
  • Help identify uninvolved student populations and develop strategies for working with them.

Qualifications: Creativity, flexibility, and excellent interpersonal communication and leadership development skills are essential. Must be capable of working both independently and as apart of a team, and have the ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years relevant experience including some/all of the following: leadership development, programming, supervision, strategic planning, Judaic knowledge, computer skills, previous work with undergraduate and graduate students, some development experience.
