JFS Brings Passover to Socially Isolated AdultsDENVER - March 23, 2006 - Jewish Family Service (JFS) is hosting Passover services during the month of April in greater Denver and Boulder for Jewish residents of long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, a mental health center and several correctional institutions. The Nursing Home Outreach Program at JFS offers Passover services to members of the Jewish community who might not otherwise be able to participate. JFS is reaching out to members of the Jewish community who may be socially isolated and helping them reconnect with their spiritual roots. It's that time of year again - We are busy planning for Passover!!Boulder Jewish Family Service will be conducting seders in 5 retirement homes this Passover season. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to lead a seders at Balfour in Louisville on April 3rd or 4th at lunchtime. It is also time for the annual Passover tzeddekah project! Last year, Jews in Boulder came together in a beautiful community effort and provided Passover treats for Jewish elders. We distributed Passover goody bags to every Boulder Jewish senior living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and independent retirement homes. We want to do this again, and we need your help! We will provide these wonderful goody bags to approximately 55 elders. We need donations of matzah (kosher for Passover only), gefilte fish, jelly candies or chocolate, horseradish and macaroons. Donations can be brought to the Jewish Family Service office located in the Jewish Community Center. Boulder JFS Seeks Donations for Passover Project and Volunteers for SedersDENVER - February 21, 2006 - Boulder Jewish Family Service is now planning its fifth annual Passover project which will provide Passover goody bags to many Boulder Jewish seniors living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and independent retirement homes. Each bag will contain matzot (kosher for Passover only), gefilte fish, jelly candies or kosher for Passover chocolate, horseradish, and macaroons. Donations of these items can be dropped off by April 13 to the Boulder Jewish Family Service office located in the Jewish Community Center, 3800 Kalmia Ave.; CU Hillel, 2795 Colorado Ave.; or Congregation Bonai Shalom, 1527 Cherryvale Rd. In addition to the Passover goody bag project, Boulder JFS is organizing "Super Senior Seders" in five retirement homes and assisted living facilities this Passover season. Boulder JFS seeks enthusiastic volunteers to lead the Seders and to donate time by cooking or helping out on the day of the services.
