Discovering the Divine Surrounding and Within All Being

A Seven-Day Jewish Meditation Retreat

March 19-26, 2006

Sylvia Boorstein, Rabbis Joanna Katz and Jeff Roth
With Rabbis Zalman Schachter-Shalomi and Miles Krassen

At Shambhala Mountain Center, Colorado
Sponsored by Elat Chayyim, Yesod and Shambhala Mountain Center

Take the opportunity for a profound spiritual experience with this seven-day meditation retreat. Using the vehicle of silence and a variety of Jewish meditation approaches this retreat will offer you the possibility of looking deeply into your own life and coming to a place of greater wisdom, joy and compassion. The deep work allows each of us to see more clearly how our lives become overwhelmed causing us to shut down and hurting ourselves and those around us in the process. The clarity of this practice, allows us to glimpse instead, the Divine presence that pervades all of life. The retreat includes periods of daily prayer and chant. Daily instructions in meditation will help guide both beginning and advanced practitioners as you enter the sacred space created by the retreat process. The retreat, which is conducted in social silence, includes times for questions and answers as well as small group and private interviews with the principle instructors. Reb Zalman and Reb Miles will alternate leading a daily class in traditional Jewish meditation concepts and practices. The week is culminated in a deep celebration of Shabbat followed by the chance to hear of each other's learning as the retreat comes to a close.

The costs of the retreat include room and board and an administrative fee to cover the other retreat costs. The teachings are presented without fees included to support the teaching staff. Participants will be asked to make a voluntary contribution to support the teachers. Some financial aid is available. Requests for financial aid should be made to Rabbi Roth at jroth2@hvc.rr.com. Registration for the retreat can be made by calling Shambhala Mountain Center. Costs for the retreat are room and board fees plus an administrative fee of $150 per person.
