PRAYERS

AT PARDES LEVAVOT

SPECIAL NOTE:

Dear Hearts:

This year, the ALEPH Kallah returns to our region - it will be held July 2-8 in Albuquerque, NM. This is the international gathering which takes place every other year in a different part of the U.S. It attracts over 800 renewelers, including 100+ children. There's something for everyone. Incredible class offerings (including one being taught by Reb Victor & Reb Nadya), deep davenen, fun evening programs, and a most amazing Kids Kallah!

There are brochures at shul, or you can see it on the web at www.aleph.org/kallah.html. You can also
view the ALEPH Kallah FAQ. Special discounts are offered for first-timers and for a Minyan (that's 10 or more people registering together from one congregation). Lets bring our Pardes spirit to Kallah, and then bring back the Kallah inspiration to our community! Talk to our rabbis about their Kallah experience. Its what brought them into Jewish renewal in the first place!

Thank You

Thank you to the members of our Circle of Family Education program for helping to lead us in a very special shabbat service. The kids did a great job! It was wonderful having you all there.

Community Table

Ellen Brock is organizing the volunteers from Jewish Renewal who help at Community Table once a month. We are especially in need of help this month, since it falls on Memorial Day, May 28 this year.  We generally have a great repeat group as well as new folks who come each month, but I know this month will be a challenge getting enough help because of the holiday. Community Table provides  a clean, safe environment and a hot meal for those in and around Boulder that need it.  Our day to serve this month is May 28 at the First Christian Church, 950 28th Street Frontage Road.  Volunteers set up, serve and clean up between 3:45 PM and 6:30 PM.  The shifts are usually as follows:  Set up from 3:45-5:00 and serving and clean-up from 5:00-6:30. However, some volunteers come whenever they can and that works too. It's a wonderful mitzvah and a way to make a big difference in our community. Please contact Ellen if you can help!

Many Thanks,
Ellen ellen.brock@colorado.edu

SPECIAL MEMBER NEEDS/OFFERINGS

Making Parenting A Spiritual Practice

A very special class at Elat Chayyim, August 20-26 - Family Week, taught by Rabbis Victor and Nadya Gross.

Children come into this world bearing the wisdom gained in lifetimes lived before and the memory of God breathing life into them once again. Their greatest gift to us is to open our eyes to the unlimited potential and purity of the universe. Our greatest gift to them is to overcome our controlling need to shape them in our image.

The spiritual practice of parenting seeks to create a safe, loving and supportive environment where these young beings can grow in conscious partnership with their Divine intention. When we learn to parent in this way, our homes are defined by love, authenticity and meaning.

Come learn this practice, sourced in our rabbinic and mystical tradition, and find new joy and purpose in your relationships with your children.

Holy Office Space Needed

Hanalei Laner needs a holy office space to teach Hebrew and Jewish studies to be used 15 - 20 hours weekly, during business hours. She's looking for an inexpensive place, perhaps in someone's home. West Boulder, or near downtown, would be ideal.  Please call her at (303) 447-3974.

House Sitter Needed June 9-23

We are in need of a house sitter for June 9 through June 23rd. If you or anyone you know might be interested in house sitting at our house on Sugarloaf in the foothills, where in June it is beautifully green with lots of wild flowers and quiet and peaceful, please let me know. We have 2 very friendly loving dogs, and 3 horses who need feeding. We will, of course, pay for these services. Please email or call me with the phone number of the person who wants to house sit. Or if you know of someone who might be interested, please let me know and I will contact them. Thank you very much. Arleen Miller 303-442-6656 ArleenMco@aol.com
