Getting
Involved
JCC Purim
Carnival
The annual JCC
Purim Carnival is fast approaching. If you would like to volunteer to
help, please contact info@pardeslevavot.org.
We need help with: the photo booth (helping the kids take pictures),
face painting or hair spray painting. We also have a form
to pre-order game tickets, purchase early and save money!
Additionally, we
are looking for outgoing, energetic, goofy people who want to help tell
the story of Purim at our carnival. These volunteers will act as wandering
minstrels
– each taking a character from the Purim story and telling it from
his/her point of view to the children at the carnival. Those who
volunteer will have the opportunity to help create the script,
determine what part you want to play, and choose what shift you want
for the carnival (first come/ first serve). To help with this GREAT
mitzvah (and have a fun time at the carnival), or to get more
information, please contact Sarah Pew at 303-437-9268 or by email at sarah@sarahsparties.com.
This is
open to anyone 16 years old or older. There is limited space, so please
contact Sarah today.

Community
Infant
Program (CIP) – Bring baby items to help
struggling parents and single mothers. There is an ongoing need for
disposable diapers for young families with children. You can
bring them
to the church. Thank you!

A new forestry graduate receives his first 5-year posting way out in
the middle of a huge forest with no people around for miles. Included
in his survival gear, much to his surprise, is a recipe for matzah
balls. When he asks why he's receiving a matzah ball recipe, he is
told, "Sometime, a few years down the road when the solitude really
starts to get to you, you're going to remember your matzah ball recipe.
You're going to get it out and start making some and before you know it
you're going to have ten Jewish women looking over your shoulder
saying, 'That's not the correct way to make matzah balls.'"
