CIP BASKETS – This
Thanksgiving we will continue the tradition of sharing food baskets
with CIP (Community Infant Program with the Mental Health Center of
Boulder/Broomfield Counties). Thank
you for starting to talk to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers
about contributing food and cash donations for the baskets which we’ll
assemble the Sunday before the holiday. We will
be collecting the food items for a Thanksgiving meal (canned
vegetables, instant potatoes, gravy mix, cranberries, etc.), as well as
cash donations to cover the cost of the King Soopers gift certificates
for the perishable items (turkey, milk, butter, etc.). Last
year we provided 120 baskets with the balance of food going to EFAA
(Emergency Family Assistance Association). We
will
soon know how many for this year. Sharing feels
great!! CIP Co-ordinator = Diane LaFavor

House Sitter Needed
Dec 18, 2009 -
Jan 8,
2010.
We
live in the foothills (mountains) west of Boulder, in the Sugarloaf
neighborhood. It is beautiful and peaceful here, and only 20 minutes
to downtown Boulder. We are looking for someone to stay in our home
and take care of our 2 horses (in the backyard) and our 2 Hungarian
sheep dogs who are very loving and friendly, and want a lot of
attention when people are home. We don't expect someone to be here all
the time, so if you work, that is fine. A 4 wheel drive vehicle would
be helpful, but not required. We would, of course, pay for you to
house sit. If you are interested, please call me at 303 442-6656.

Morris Siegel, the owner of a small Kosher New York deli, was being
questioned by an IRS agent about his tax return. He had reported a net
profit of $60,000 for the year.
"Why don't you people leave me alone?" the deli owner said. "I work
like a dog, everyone in my family helps out, the place is only closed
three days a year. And you want to know how I made $60,000?"
"It's not your income that bothers us," the agent said. "It's these
business travel deductions of $125,000. You listed ten trips to Israel
for you and your wife."
"Oh, that?" the owner said smiling. "Well... we also deliver."
