Jewish
Views of After Life
Years
ago, people would say, "Oh, Jews don’t believe
in the afterlife." Maybe most Jews don’t, but
Judaism has always had a view of the
Afterlife--from the Bible’s variety of views to
the Middle Ages when belief in gilgul
(reincarnation) was as kosher as Manischewitz.
How do we evolve spiritually, based on the idea
that consciousness survives bodily death? How
does it change the way we think of Kaddish, of
caring for the dead, of sitting Shiva?
People report very powerful dreams of their dead
loved ones. It certainly makes you wonder. How
can this be?
Come, learn, explore and share your own
questions and experiences. The class will be
taught by Rabbi Ori Har.
December 1, 8 and 15, 2011. Thursdays, 5:30 –
7:00 PM at the Boulder JCC. Fee: $36
To enroll call Menorah at the JCC or

Friendship, or ori.har@comcast.net

The Sage-ing journey empowers us to discover the
sacredness of our life cycle. The class offers
knowledge and powerful contemplative tools for
gathering and giving expression to the wisdom of
our ripening lives. We teach skills which
empower us to harvest the wisdom of our life
experience to enrich the present moment; face
our mortality and learn from it; mature in our
relationships and in our communities; develop a
regenerative spirit; and take active leadership
roles in society.
This class entwines journal writing exercises,
text study, interactive and individual
meditations, and group sharing.
Co-sponsored by Center for Spiritual Friendship,
Haver Rabbinical Council, Boulder JCC’s
Maimonides Wellness Center and Fully Alive
Medicine - A Holistic Wellness Center.

Childcare Workers Needed
Great
opportunity for Childcare workers needed for
children’s programming at the 2012 OHALAH

Hotel from Sunday, January 8th until noon on
Wednesday, January 11th. We are looking for a
few playful and responsible childcare workers

conference attendees who are rabbis and
rabbinical students so the parents may attend
workshops and meetings at the hotel.
Possibilities include pool-time, art-making,
music, nature, hiking, sledding, and games. We
anticipate 2-5 children, ages 4-9. We will have
morning, afternoon, evening and some late night

during meals at the conference. You need not
commit to all time slots, but we’d love it if
you do! Please send letters of interest to Rabbi

Moishe was passing by a florist when he saw a
sign in the window saying, "Say It With
Flowers."
He went into the shop and said to the assistant,
"Wrap up one rose for me."
"Only one?" the assistant asked.
"Just one," replied Moishe. "I'm a man of few
words."
